Resources for Studying Acts
On Sunday, we began our fall study at CTK where we will work through the book of Acts together on Sunday morning and in our discipleship groups. Here are a few resources for you to consider as we work through the book of Acts and see how our God advances his mission through the church.
Through the Church
Through the Church is our church study written by our pastors (John and Seth). It corresponds with our Sunday morning sermons and gives you five days of devotionals each week. It also provides prayer prompts for each week and family devotional questions. Pick up your copy on Sunday morning.
The Bible Project
These videos provide a great overview of the book of Acts. Part one can be seen here. Part two can be seen here.
The Mission of the Triune God
This book provides an introduction to the major theological themes in the book of Acts in 155 pages. It’s written by Patrick Schreiner, a professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, who I’ve known for nearly twenty years now and who I claim as a friend—if he’ll still have me! You can find the book on Amazon.
The Message of Acts
For those interested in a commentary, the twentieth-century evangelical stalwart John R. W. Stott provides an accessible commentary in the Bible Speaks Today Series. You can find it on Amazon.
